WE'RE HERE AND WE'RE ADAPTING

Excelsia was one of the fastest higher education providers to transition to online learning in mid-March to reduce the risk of COVID-19. We are committed to adapting to ongoing challenges with an innovative mindset to provide maximum flexibility with regard to students' attendance and learning. We have adapted to a new way, we are flexible and all of our students and staff have shown their resiliency during this time.

Responding to such disruption, we are online so that we can ensure students most effectively maintain their studies. The College has waived any requirements for physical attendance that may be in place for classes for the remainder of the semester.

Excelsia offers online support to students to help with academic skills and assessment task analysis, including dedicated academics who are available to assist in real-time. Student Support Services will continue to be delivered via virtual channels. Our careers and employability, course planning, counselling services, chaplaincy and more will all be delivered remotely.

As we introduce remote learning and teaching options, our campus will remain open for those students wishing to use our essential facilities. We will be maintaining essential services to support online teaching, including the library. Students can access over 180,000 full textbooks and tens of thousands of journal articles offsite as needed.

For prospective students considering Drama, Music or Counselling, Excelsia are working on offering free online masterclasses over the coming months to help them explore a possible career path. This is an opportunity for us to convert some of our favourite masterclasses and events into an online format so that prospective students, no matter where the location, can participate.

Peter McKeon, CEO of Excelsia College, says the College will continue to develop strategic thinking to achieve constant innovation and become more resilient during these uncertain times.

“We are focusing on the following aspects: holistic and practical thinking, as well as an open approach to studies. Keeping the big picture in mind and maintaining smooth coordination will enable us to respond quickly and achieve shared goals.”
