Biographical details

Prior to commencing at Excelsia College Professor Eddie was the Vina Capital Professor of Private Equity at RMIT International University Vietnam. Previous to this appointment he was Professor of Accounting and Corporate Governance and Director of the Graduate College of Management at Southern Cross University, Professor of Accounting and Dean of the Faculty of Business and Government at the University of Canberra and Associate Professor and Head of the New England Business School at the University of New England.

PhD from The University of New England for research analyzing consolidation accounting practices in the Asia Pacific region. Master of Economics by research from The University of Sydney investigating asset valuation in imperfect markets. Bachelor of Economics Honours from The University of Sydney for research examining purchase and pooling accounting methods in business combinations.

Corporate governance practices and regulation; director and board performance metrics; financial technology and innovation; financial analytics; venture capital and private equity finance; organizational leadership; corporate accounting and financial reporting; the development and application of financial innovations via startup business enterprises and their application in market, community and city ecosystems.

Current projects

Contemporary research projects include modelling the fintech ecosystem; evaluating the quality of fintech startup enterprises; digital banking; the application of fintech and blockchain solutions to enhance business and government organizational innovation and efficiency; fintech applications in venture capital and private equity funding; smart cities developments; equity financial markets; and corporate governance practices addressing cybersecurity risk.
