Bonny Cotter is a social work supervisor and practitioner, with over twenty-five years’ social work experience in both government and community organisations. She is currently working as Program Manager at Bridging the Gap in Western Sydney, delivering services to vulnerable and disadvantaged children and their families within the local community, promoting partnerships and developing organizational policy. Bonny has also trained and worked as a music therapist within the disability and aged care sector and delivered group music therapy programs to parents and children to strengthen attachment and address trauma.
Bonny’s professional journey includes leadership roles in child and family services, trauma-informed practice, and community development. As Program Manager at Bridging the Gap and Wesley Mission, she oversaw multidisciplinary teams delivering counselling, art therapy, and early intervention programs. Her clinical background includes work as a registered music therapist and social worker in aged care, disability, and mental health settings.
She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from UNSW, a Graduate Diploma in Creative Music Therapy, and a Graduate Certificate in Developmental Trauma. Bonny is an accredited member of the AASW and has contributed to sector development through supervision training, conference presentations, and board leadership.
Outside of her professional life, Bonny loves family, animals, music, art, and the outdoors.
