Student Centre

Excelsia College’s student centre provides a place of retreat for students between classes. The student centre is fitted with modern furniture and lounge areas, creating a relaxed atmosphere for students to catch up, study or have lunch. Facilities include a vending machine, microwave oven and kitchen area. Throughout the year, the student centre is used for various student and alumni events and functions.


Excelsia College’s auditorium provides a professional rehearsal and performance space for our drama and music courses. It houses audiences of 150, has a small proscenium stage with modular thrust, several backstage change rooms with excellent acoustics.

The lighting system is equipped with 36 channels of dimmers with 72 patch points. 24 are accessible in the wings for use as side booms, and 48 in the rigging above the stage. The auditoriums lighting system is equipped with a LSC Clarity for lighting control of 16 par 64s, 5 par 56s, 21 RGBAW Led wash fixtures, 6 650w wash lamps, 3 1.2kw wash lamps, 9 650w profiles and 4 Mac 500 movers, as well as the house lighting system.

The audio system is equipped with an Allen & Heath Qu32 32 channel digital mixing console and an AR2412 digital snake, giving us 24 channels of audio from the stage to the mixer. The auditorium has a 4 channel foldback system that can be expanded; and readily interfaced with more equipment and readily reconfigured.

  • Ten (sound-proof) teaching studios and audio technology laboratories

  • Digital and video cameras; recorders and monitors; stereo systems
  • Projectors; lighting and sound systems; public address systems
  • Photocopiers; whiteboards; screens; desks and chairs; and specialised equipment, such as that required for audio technology and multimedia.

AUDIO TECHNOLOGY including Alesis Studio 32 recording console with inline monitor, Maxi Studio Isis Interactive Sound Integration System and Roland JV-80 synthesiser, and other audio/video equipment, PA equipment and microphones.

School of Counselling Specialist Rooms

The School of Counselling occupies a suite of rooms that offer accommodation to faculty and staff, facilities for students and facilities for a counselling centre.

There are five dedicated sound proof, appropriately furnished therapy rooms, a general administration area and two general offices that are used for tutorial discussion groups, as well as for administrative purposes.
